Fees & Charges

Payment

It is expected that all fees are to be paid at the time of assessment or therapy. Fees can be paid by either cash or cheque. Cheques can be made payable to Stepping Stones Occupational Therapy Service.

Private Insurance

Stepping Stones OT is a registered provider with most private health insurance funds. If you are unsure, if you are covered please contact your insurance company for details. 

Medicare Rebate

Stepping Stones OT is also registered with Medicare, through the Enhance Primary Care Program (Allied Health Initiative). To claim through Medicare, a referral is required from your GP, however restrictions apply. If eligible, your child can recieve 5 sessions through the program per calander year.

 


 

Autism Spectrum Disorders

Children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder are eligible to claim additional Medicare rebates with a referral from a Paedaitrician under the Helping Children with Autism initiative. Up to 20 sessions can be claimed for children under the age of 15 years of age.

Stepping Stones OT is a recognised panel provider for FaHCSIA Helping Children with Autism initiative. Children with an ASD diagnosis, under the age of 7 years are eligible to obtain $12 000 of therapy (provided by panel members) over two years. Contact Autism Spectrum Australia on 1300 978 611 or www.fahcsia.gov.au/autism.

Stepping Stones OT is a recognized provider for the Better Start for Children with Disability (Better Start) initiative.  

As of 1 July 2011, children who are aged under 6 years and have been diagnosed with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, Fragile X syndrome, or a moderate or greater vision or hearing impairment, including deaf blindness, can be registered to access early intervention funding. The categories of disability identified in the announcement were determined based on evidence that intensive early intervention in the pre-school years is effective in preparing this cohort of children for school.
