Stepping Stones OT is not a registered provider under NDIS — National Disability Insurance Scheme. We are able to provide client’s and their families with occupational therapy support who have NDIS plans that are “Self-Managed” or “Plan-Managed”. We are no longer able to provide occupational therapy to “NDIA Managed” clients through the scheme.

Plan-Managed

NDIS pays for an organisation to manage your plan/funding and we send our Stepping Stones OT invoices to their Plan Manager who processes it through NDIS. Stepping Stones OT is paid directly by NDIS.

Self-Managed

This basically means that you pay for the therapy service (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, etc) and then you enter a claim via your NDIS myplace Participant Portal with the therapy invoice details. NDIS will pay the money into your bank account within 24-48 hours. You are able to Self Manage part of your plan, eg. Improved Daily Living, from which all your therapy funding comes from, whilst still having the NDIA manage the other parts of your the plan, eg. Core Budget or Capital Budget.

Here is the information sheet for starting your plan as a Self-Managed participant >> Self-Managed Participant PDF

Please read the Self-Management Guide to gain a better understanding of how it all works >> NDIS Self-Management Guide

If you need additional information or support on how to Self-Manage your NDIS funding on the portal, please contact Kylie Brown on a Tuesday or Friday in our office.  Kylie is more than happy to advise you on how to process and claim funds.
